COVID-19 Spring Vaccination Programme

Our practice is taking part in the NHS COVID-19 spring vaccination programme and will be offering vaccinations to eligible patients.

Under current NHS England commissioning arrangements, GP practices are able to provide COVID-19 vaccinations locally to make access easier for patients. Delivering the programme requires additional staffing, clinic capacity and specific service requirements, and appointments may therefore be provided at set clinic times rather than during routine surgery hours.

Eligible patients will be contacted when appointments are available. Please do not contact the practice to request a vaccination unless you have been invited, as this helps us keep phone lines free for patients who need medical care.

If you are eligible for an RSV vaccination, this may be offered at the same appointment as your COVID-19 vaccination where possible. Giving these vaccines together is safe and allows us to protect you against both infections in one visit.

Housebound patients who are registered with practices participating in the programme will be vaccinated with support from our local federation, GP Health Partners who will coordinate home visits on behalf of opted-in practices.. Unfortunately, this service is only available for patients registered with practices that are taking part in the vaccination programme this spring.

Patients may also be offered vaccination through community pharmacy or other local NHS providers. However, where possible, attending for vaccination at your own GP practice helps support the delivery of services within primary care and allows funding to remain within general practice, helping us maintain sustainable services for our patients.

Thank you for your support while we deliver this programme alongside our normal GP services

 Kind regards,

Longcroft Clinic Management.
